On my marks…

paula-mirror

This is was me: Paula.

Short, stressed, self-conscious. That’s the description I went by for thirty years. My nerves ruled my life, and what a dull life it was.

But while I’ve never quite taken that stretch I was always promised, the rest of that description is now virtually unrecognisable. Whether it’s trying out the seventeen Glasgow 2014 sports, or working the fifteen jobs that kids want when they grow up, I’ve embraced adventure and – surprise! – it embraced me back.

Nowadays, nothing is beyond my outlook. I’m a trier, speaker, author, athlete and everyday adventurer. I’ve wrestled with Olympians, lunched with a prince, and trained like an astronaut.

But you don’t need to leave the planet to find adventure. You don’t even have to leave your own street.

Adventure is everywhere; you just have to look for it. And I’ll show you where.

Paula.

  1. Hi Paula,

Really love your site and the challenge you’re taking on!

I’m writing on behalf of spogo – we are a website aiming to help more people get into sport and fitness by making it easier to find (and eventually) book it near them, off the back of London 2012. We are launching our consumer site shortly with some ambassadors that are undertaking new sports and fitness regimes, and we think you’d really fit in with what we’re all about. We’d really love to meet up and have a chat if you might be interested? (one of our team will be in Glasgow in the not-too-distant future if that helps!)

Happy New Year – hope to hear from you soon

    Best,
    Julia

  2. hey hey paula (geddit?)
I’m an ol’ fart aka old geezer but just had to to write and wish you the best.

I do believe the phrase amongst the young folk is
    YOU GO GIRL!
